Southeast Asia Course Development Grant Funding

Call for Course Development Proposals—Southeast Asia

The Center for Asian Studies has funding available for ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder faculty members who would like to develop curricula for new or revised courses about Southeast Asia.

CAS will offer two faculty awards for the creation or significant revision of an undergraduate course on Southeast Asia in any discipline. This opportunity is offered as part of a larger two-year initiative funded by a US Department of Education UISFL grant. Funding will be provided to faculty to develop new courses with Southeast Asia content or revise existing courses to add Southeast Asia content, in order to enhance the area studies curriculum and build toward the Southeast Asia track in the Asian Studies major. Two $1500 stipends will be awarded for a total of $3000 per year. Proposals for new Global Seminars in Southeast Asia are also welcome.

Application Information:

All grants will be made in the amount of $1500 to support faculty engaged in curriculum research and development during Summer 2018. Awards will be paid as summer salary (subject to taxes and withholding), or as reimbursement for travel or course materials.

Please complete a Course Development Grant Application and submit, along with appropriate attachments, to cas@colorado.edu. Proposals are due to CAS on Monday, February 26, 2018.

Award recipients will be asked to submit a report and syllabus for the new course during the Fall 2018 semester. New or revised courses must be cross-listed with Asian Studies. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility for future CAS faculty awards.
