Ricky Marton was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, then moved south to play soccer at Florida Southern College, where he received a BFA in graphic design and two minors in communications. After working for a year as a trial presentation specialist in Tampa, he went on to found anÌýonline charitable clothing marketplace, Be Robin Hood, that allows customers to shop various styles, brands and items knowing that portions of each purchase goes towards helping charities or organizations. In addition, he also co-founded an aerial videography company as well as a Swedish watch brand called Jon Oscar. However, doing community work in impoverished areas of countries such as Peru, Haiti, Guatemala and Germany fueled him with a dire need to be part of a larger organization devoted to making large-scale change. This desire brought him to ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder's Social Impact program in hopes that he'll learn the skills to achieve these goals. Amongst his otherÌýbusiness ventures and recently receiving a certificate in sustainable business strategy from Harvard Business School Online, Ricky is currently working as an innovation fellow with a Washington DC-based international development organization, Pact, spearheading the implementation of an open-innovation platform in order to create an ecosystem of collaboration in Pact's 30-plusÌýcountry offices. His continued work with open innovation and its potential as it pertains to global development isÌýalso shaping up to be the foundation of Ricky's future research.
