Forever Buffs Advisory Board 2024

The Forever Buffs Advisory Board is a group of volunteers representing ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ’s diverse alumni population in matters concerning the operation and advancement of the Alumni Association. The board is comprised of approximately 20 volunteer members serving three-year terms*. Applications are open each year in January.

Purpose
We serve as advisors and advocates for Forever Buffs to ensure the quality, impact, sustainability and success of the organization and its initiatives.

Mission
Our charge is to serve as strategic advisors to the Forever Buffs organization and to engage with the global community as well-informed advocates for the University. As a representative group of alumni, we contribute our time and talent to cultivate pride and engagement with the University of Colorado Boulder and further the goals, values, and vision of the Forever Buffs organization.

Vision 
We will be an inclusive and representative body of the broader Forever Buffs community to expand the influence and impact of the board as advocates on matters of strategic interest for the alumni and the university.


Board Member Desired Qualifications:

  • Passion and pride for the University of Colorado Boulder
  • Creative and critical thinking skills and the desire to apply them towards strategic problems
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and active participation in meetings and group discussions
  • Demonstrated engagement or involvement with the University

Please note: the Board seeks to represent the diverse ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ Boulder alumni population (including graduation year, major / industry, geographic location, gender, and race). We welcome all applicants, and encourage you to apply again if not initially selected as the board’s needs shift each year.

Responsibilities

Board members serve three-year terms and their responsibilities include the following:

  • Attending board meetings three times a year on the Boulder campus, preparing for agenda items and issues, and studying supporting materials.
  • Participating effectively in board activities and discussions by voicing opinions, displaying leadership and thinking creatively.
  • Representing the interests of everyone served by the association, without favoring special interests.
  • Acting as an advocate for the association and the University of Colorado Boulder.
  • Identifying, cultivating and recruiting future leaders for the association.
  • Performing other duties and assuming other responsibilities assigned by the chair of the board.
